Beth van Bladel, CPA Director Capital Region Patient Advocacy
Beth van Bladel is the Founder and Director of Capital Region Patient Advocacy, a grassroots endeavor dedicated to teaching healthcare advocacy and navigation skills to our community. She
develops healthcare navigation tools, facilitates caregiver discussion groups and teaches workshops such as "Preparing for the Doctor's Visit and Communicating Your Medical
Concerns", "The Ins and Outs of Medication Management", "Navigating the Hospital Discharge Process: Transitioning from Hospital to Home" and "Learn the Benefits of Advance Care
Planning".
Beth has developed a resource network of healthcare experts and actively collaborates with professional and community organizations. She has conducted community educational sessions
on behalf of the Albany Medical Center Renal Transplant Unit, Albany Law School, Alzheimer's Association, Capital District Scleroderma Foundation, Capital Region Caregiver Coalition,
Colonie Senior Services, Community Caregivers, Inc., Foundation of New York State Nurses LENS Program, and the National Kidney Foundation. Beth also conducted community
educational sessions and outreach visits in support of the IPRO Care Transitions and Advance Care Planning Initiatives. She has been a featured guest on WMHT's "Health Link with Benita
Zahn" and WGY 103.1 FM "Life Matters". Beth served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Healthcare Advocacy Consultants (NAHAC) and Community Caregivers, Inc.
Beth is also employed as a Director and Outsourced CFO/Financial Advisor with CFO for Hire, a division of BST & Co. CPAs, LLP. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of
New York, earned her Six Sigma Greenbelt in Healthcare, and a BS in Accounting from the University at Albany.
Beth has a natural ability to break down complex financial concepts. She has developed a reputation for collaboratively solving problems and achieving results. Utilizing her Six Sigma
Greenbelt she develops efficient processes and leverages financial systems and automation to support growing organizations. She feels a profound sense of joy and purpose coaching and
training her clients, team members and NextGen CPAs.
Beth is an active member of the New York State Society of CPA's (NYSSCPA) and is a recipient of the NYSSCPA Distinguished Service Award and Outstanding CPA in Industry Award. She is
also a graduate of the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce Capital Leadership Program; Mediation Matters Basic Mediation Program and was a Capital District Business Review 40 Under Forty Honoree and Columnist.
